BIOGRAPHY
Harriet Krijgh was born in the Netherlands in 1991. In 2004 she took up studies with Lilia Schulz-Bayrova and Jontscho Bayrov in Vienna. Since 2013 Harriet has studied at the Kronberg Academy with Frans Helmerson. Harriet won first prize at the Princess Christina Competition in the Netherlands and the Fidelio Competition in Vienna and both first prize and audience award at the Amsterdam Cello Biennale in 2012.
Harriet has already performed in many of Europe’s most prestigious venues such as the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Philharmonie Essen and Konzerthaus Dortmund as well as Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Rotterdam´s De Doelen. She has debuted with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and the NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg. She makes regular appearances at the Haydn Festival Eisenstadt, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Festival Sommets Musicaux Gstaad and Schwetzingen Musikfestspiele.
The 2014/15 season included debuts with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bamberg Symphony Orchestra with Jonathan Nott and the Kammerakademie Potsdam. She was guest at the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Moritzburg Festival and the Mozartfest Würzburg.
Harriet records exclusively with the Capriccio label. Releases include Haydn’s cello concerti, a CD of French works, the cello sonatas of Brahms, and romantic cello works with the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz and Gustavo Gimeno.
