Biography
Aaron Pilsan was born in 1995 in Dornbirn, Austria. He was a student of Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, first at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, then at the Hanover conservatory, where he also worked with Vassilia Efstathiadou, and is currently studying with Lars Vogt. He has participated in master classes with András Schiff, Alfred Brendel and Matti Raekallio.
Aaron Pilsan has been a prizewinner at both national and international competitions. He won first prizes at the Rotary Youth Music Prize, the “Prima la Musica” Competition, the Grotrian Steinweg competition in Braunschweig and the Wendl & Lung Competition in Vienna. In the “Ton und Erklärung” competition in Munich, he was awarded a prize for the best interpretation of Liszt. In 2011 he was also elected young artist of the year by the prestigious magazine Fono Forum.
He has played at the Lunchtime Concerts in the Philharmonie Berlin, at the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Schwetzingen Festival, Bregenz Festival, Kissinger Sommer, at Schloss Elmau, the European Youth Music Festival Passau and at Lars Vogt´s chamber music festival “Spannungen”. During the 2013/2014 season Aaron Pilsan gave debut performances at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Klavier-Festival Ruhr, Tonhalle Zürich, the RSO Stuttgart, the Mozart Festival Würzburg and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
