Rising Stars 2023/2024 Season

Each year the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) selects a group of outstanding artists to become its Rising Stars. The selected Rising Stars receive professional development support and perform a concert tour across the halls of the ECHO network The ECHO Rising Stars series has existed since 1995/1996 and has shaped the musical careers of many of today’s world class artists.

The aim of the Rising Stars series is to bring young and exceptional young artists to new international audiences. The selected artists are offered unparalleled performance opportunities to present musical programmes of their choosing in the major concert halls of Europe. The focus of the series is musical excellence; the artists presented in the series are the best in their chosen field and are hand-selected by the Artistic Directors of our member halls.

As the artists undertake their tours they also engage with and deliver a broad variety of Education, Learning and Participation work with diverse communities in cities and regions across the ECHO network. ECHO also organises a series of workshops for the artists to support their wider personal and professional development and to explore shared questions and goals amongst this generation of artists across Europe.

Each Rising Star artist also has a new work commissioned for them as part of the series. Composers whose works will be premiered and performed by our ECHO Risings Stars during the 2023/2024 season are Thomas Adès, Annelies Van Parys, Eric Tanguy, Moritz Eggert, Sofia Avramidou and Maria Sigfúsdóttir.
