ECHO

The European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) is an active network bringing together many of the major concert halls in Europe in order to promote professional exchange, shared reflection and the initiation of joint initiatives. See here for more about ECHO.

Each year ECHO nominates a group of exceptional artists as its Rising Stars. The selected artists are offered the opportunity to present an engaging musical programme of their own choosing in venues across the ECHO network. See here for more news about this year’s Rising Stars artists and their tour dates.

ECHO organises regular meetings and shared learning opportunities for colleagues from its member halls, as well as larger scale seminars open to colleagues from across the wider sector in Europe and beyond. See here for upcoming network activities and see below for a short video introducing the work of the ECHO network.

For the period 2018 – 2021 ECHO is the lead partner of a Creative Europe supported platform entitled Classical Futures Europe, dedicated to supporting emerging classical music talent in Europe. Classical Futures Europe unites both ECHO and non-ECHO halls, creating new alliances and opportunities for emerging artists, presenters and audiences alike.

Keychange – gender equality in the music sector

ECHO is delighted to have signed up to the Keychange project, part of  European wide movement committed to achieving gender equality in the music sector.  One aspect of ECHO’s three part pledge for Keychange is achieving a 50/50 gender balance in our commission and co-commission across a 5 year period covering the artistic seasons 2017/2018 to 2021/2022.
